The Most Useful Types of Power Banks to Get

  • There are many types of power banks on the market and portable chargers are one charging electronics on the market that have grown exponentially over the years, than any other charger. Things like wall chargers and desktop charging stations have stayed quite the same as there have really only been an increase in charging ports and the type of charging tech that they use. Portable chargers have undergone quite a few changes, and so that’s what we’re going to over.

The first part is that power banks aren’t just about having a low power capacity and being small. Sure they’re chargers that can go with you anywhere but that doesn’t mean that they have to be a very small size that can fit into your pocket. Of course, power banks with have 3,000mAh power capacities and have a slim form factor are one of the most used types of portable chargers on the market simply because they’re so easy to take anywhere that you want. That said, with such a low power capacity, mini portable chargers are really only meant for charging smartphones only once and then they require a recharge.

Then there are power banks that have high power capacities and these types of portable chargers are a lot more helpful to use that power banks with lower capacities. As having more power can result in more full charges for your smartphone and that means you don’t have to nearly as often recharge your power bank. So it’s good to take these high capacity portable chargers with you on long road trips or even camping. Another thing to consider is that these chargers also have more charging ports so that you can charge more devices at the same time, and I’m talking about just charging four smartphones at once, at the high capacity range is where fast charging technologies come into play.

These charging technologies are known as Quick Charge and Power Delivery, both of which are very helpful for charging compatible devices at a faster charging speed to get them to their full power at a fast speed. You can potentially use a Power Delivery portable charger to charge a laptop while you’re on the move as there are now many loops on the market that are compatible to use with USB-C charging. However, if there’s one problem with power banks that have too much power capacity is that they tend to be larger and heavier, and that can make them difficult to take every with you.

With all that said, there is a type of power bank on the market that has a good equilibrium and that would be power banks with 10,000mAh of power capacity. Most of the time people might think that this much power is simply too much for a power bank to have that it could be small and still be taken anywhere. However, this is what I meant when I said, power banks have charged a lot over the years. As now power banks with 10,000mAh are actually very small with a length of only 4 inches and a thickness of 1 inch or less, these types of portable chargers can likely just fit into your pocket. Also, with that much power capacity, you’re able to charge your smartphone to its full power about two or even three times depending on what type of a smartphone you have. Also, to finish it off, there are some mid-range power banks that might have one charging port but the port is able to offer some fast charging tech such as Quick Charge or at a standard level, that charging speed would be 5V/2.4A.
