FIFA 19 Coins has always had issues

  • On a technical level,  FIFA 19 Coins has always had issues. Even after a year of Steam early access release, the sport continues to have issues on Windows with regard to performance optimization, latency, rubberbanding and recently, cheating. The Xbox One variant was worse, with much more functionality and graphical issues, especially on the base version. As such, I did not have high hopes entering the mobile version but somehow it's turned out pretty good.

In terms of visuals, Fifa coins seems fairly good for a mobile title. The first Windows game wasn't really a looker but the cellular version retains the majority of the visual character of the version. We only get the original Erangel map on cellular but it is fully accomplished, meaning all the buildings, foliage, terrain, etc. from the first game is here, just worse looking.

The mobile version now has three tiers of visual quality, with Buy FIFA Coins a fourth even higher tier coming at some point after. Even in the highest quality, the match considerably cuts back on the light, texture detail, foliage, shadows, texture filtering, ambient occlusion, and anti-aliasing compared to the Windows version. The draw distances are also much shorter so objects load into perspective when they are much closer. While landing out of the airplane, the floor detail loads like a Google Earth map loading on a slow internet connection. However, none of this looks especially bad in actions.

Things do get poor once you flip the visual settings all of the way down. Shadows are completely removed, textures turn soupy, scene complexity is decreased and the total presentation becomes rather dull and flat. If you have played the Windows version of the game, this looks like a very distant relative of this. But if you've never played before, it still seems pretty decent for a mobile name.
